PNG to SVG Tracer

Logo to SVG converter

Turn a PNG or JPG logo into an SVG you can scale for signs, apparel and print. Keep the colors you want and clean up the edges.

How to use it

  1. Drop in your logo. Use the largest version you have.
  2. Keep the Logo or icon style. Lower the color count to match your brand colors.
  3. Compare with the original and raise Smoothing if the curves look lumpy.
  4. Download the SVG.

What a vector logo gets you

Sign makers, screen printers, embroidery shops and vinyl cutters usually ask for a vector file. An SVG scales from a business card to a billboard with no blur, and anyone can recolor it.

Tips for a clean logo trace

Start from the biggest, sharpest copy. Set the color count to the number of colors in the logo, then check small text and thin lines in the preview. Tiny type can blur into the trace, and if it does, retype it in your vector editor and keep the traced shapes for the logo mark.

What the settings do

Colors
Set this to roughly the number of colors in your logo.
Smoothing
Higher values clean up wobbly edges.
Soften
Reduces JPG noise before tracing.
Make white background transparent
Removes the white box around the logo.

What people use it for

  • Sending a vector logo to a sign shop or printer
  • Embroidery, vinyl and screen printing
  • Recoloring a logo for dark backgrounds
  • Rescuing a logo when the original file is lost

Questions

Will it match my logo exactly?

For flat logos, very closely. Fine text and soft gradients are simplified, so check the preview before you download.

Can I get a transparent background?

Yes. Tick Make white background transparent.

What if my logo has a gradient?

Gradients become bands of flat color. Rebuild the gradient in a vector editor if you need it exact.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Tracing and file creation happen in your browser, using code that is part of this page. Your image is not sent to a server. You can check this in your browser's network tab while you use the tool.
