PNG to SVG Tracer

PNG to vector converter

Convert a PNG into a vector SVG you can scale, recolor and edit. Transparent areas stay transparent.

How to use it

  1. Drop in a PNG. Transparent PNGs work.
  2. Pick Logo or icon for brand graphics, or Black and white for single-color artwork.
  3. Check the preview against the original and adjust colors and smoothing.
  4. Download the SVG.

PNG to vector means SVG

SVG is the vector format that works almost everywhere: browsers, Figma, Canva, Illustrator, Inkscape and cutting software. If a client asks for a vector version of a PNG logo, an SVG is usually what they mean. Some printers want an AI or EPS file, and any vector editor can save those from the SVG.

Getting the cleanest result

Use the biggest PNG you have. Keep colors low for flat logos. If a thin line breaks up, lower the speck filter. If curves look lumpy, raise Smoothing a notch.

What the settings do

Colors
Each color becomes one path. Eight is plenty for most logos.
Smoothing
Higher values give cleaner curves and a smaller file.
Remove small specks
Removes dust and noise below the size you pick.
Make white background transparent
Clears a white box around the artwork.

What people use it for

  • Sending a vector logo to a print shop or sign maker
  • Recoloring a flat PNG graphic without redrawing it
  • Importing artwork into Figma or Illustrator as editable shapes
  • Preparing designs for vinyl, laser and embroidery work

Questions

Is an SVG a real vector file?

Yes. SVG is an open vector format made of paths and shapes.

Can I get an AI or EPS file?

This tool saves SVG. Open it in Illustrator or Inkscape and use Save As to export AI, EPS or PDF.

Does it keep transparency?

Transparent areas in your PNG stay empty in the SVG.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Tracing and file creation happen in your browser, using code that is part of this page. Your image is not sent to a server. You can check this in your browser's network tab while you use the tool.
