Make a PNG transparent

Remove a solid background from a logo, drawing or product shot and save it as a transparent PNG. Click the background to pick the color to remove.

How to use it

  1. Drop in an image. The tool guesses the background color from the corners.
  2. Click the background in the picture if it picked the wrong color.
  3. Raise tolerance to clear shadows and fringes. Raise edge softness for a smoother edge.
  4. Download the transparent PNG.

What this does and does not do

It removes one background color, and colors close to it. That is perfect for logos, text, icons, drawings and product photos shot on white or another plain backdrop.

It is not an AI cutout tool. Photos with busy or multicolored backgrounds, hair and fine detail will not separate cleanly, because there is no single color to remove.

Getting clean edges

Light halos around the edge usually mean tolerance is a little low. Jagged edges usually mean edge softness is too low. Try tolerance 20 to 40 and softness 10 to 30 on a logo.

If a logo has white inside it, such as the center of an O, switch Where to remove it to Everywhere. Otherwise only the outside background is cleared.
